Reminder: Meditation

Oftentimes at night, after I take my nightly meds and OTC supplements {and this} to help me relax, I will get an idea for a blog post. I’ll even write out a little bit to get started. When I finally try and go to bed, I will actually look forward to the next day. But as I lay there trying to get to sleep I’ll run into a problem. I personally struggle with Sleep Avoidance, and when I finally dose off, I might awaken from a bad dream. One that affects me so much that I’ll have a difficult time falling back to sleep. Or I may feel something on my arm, and thinking its a spider, I’ll jump out of bed and grab the flashlight. (I recently was bitten by a spider on my hand while sleeping. Oh yes, I awoke right after it happened).

Unfortunately, what ends up happening, is that I’ll have a bad night of sleeping and trying to get to sleep, I feel so bereft of energy the next day. It sucks. One moment I am inspired and looking forward to the next day, and the next thing I know I’m in an interminable sequence of rumination and insomnia. I’m sure there are so many others out there who struggle with similar challenges.

I’ve been recently reminded of the importance of guided meditation, and finding the right voice to meditate to. I like: @RisingHigherMeditation  and I highly recommend visiting her channel. I notice that I feel much better when I meditate on more consistent basis! Also, check out this wonderful article about the importance of meditation right here!
